Minato Mirai 21. This area was all part of the bay or dry docks back in the '50s. The Nippon Maru, the sailing ship on the right, is in one of the two remaining dry docks in the area. Sakuragicho Station is just behind the photographer. That area was all a large train yard up until Minato Mirai was built for the Yokohama Exotic Showcase in 1989.
On the left of this picture is the first of three buildings that have become Queen's Square, a shopping plaza and hotel. Straight ahead are a couple of hotels right on the seaside. The ferris wheel has been moved to "Cosmo World" just to the right of this picture.
These stone fountains (dry right now) are located just outside Yokohama Stadium (on the site that used to be known as Lou Gehrig Field). There is a bust of Lou located at stand level near the right field foul poll, and a bust of Babe Ruth, who also played here before the War, near the left field foul poll.
Same as above, except zoomed out a bit to show all three of the Queen's Square buildings and more of the Minato Mirai skyline.
Seagulls looking for food at the seaside of Yamashita Koen (Park). Yamashita Koen was a housing area for the U.S. military after WWII.

Minato Mirai 21 from across the bay. This photo shows the three buildings that make up Queen's Square under construction. The tall building to their left is Landmark Tower, the tallest building in Japan, with the fastest elevator in the world! The wedge shaped curved building is the Pacifico Hotel, located right on the edge of Minato Mirai 21 and Yokohama Bay.
A close up (straight up) view of Landmark Tower, Japan's tallest building, located at Minato Mirai 21.
