UNUSUAL LETTER ABOUT

"LADIES OF THE NIGHT"

bonzi7.jpg (69361 bytes) Typically, when a military installation is established in any community the people who live in that community often establish "businesses" near that installation.  During the "Occupation Era" of Japan, some of the "businesses" established were created to provide "hiring" services to support "on-installation" labor requirements -- maids, janitors, laborers, etc................

The following 3 page letter was presented to the U.S. Army Assistant Commander, Camp Fuchinobe in 1948 by a local business person, after the installation terminated the employment of certain local nationals for actions which were contrary to policy.  The letter was written on "rice-paper".
