started as troop ships. On the left, the President Wilson (ex. Adm. F.
B. Upham AP 129) and on the right is the President Cleveland (ex. Adm. D.
W. Taylor Ap 128)
In 1972 the Cleveland and the Wilson were withdrawn from service and sold to Taiwanese shipper C. Y. Tung's Oriental Overseas Line. The Cleveland became the Oriental President and the Wilson became the Oriental Empress and were to sail as cruise ships. However, high fuel prices prevented their use and they were sold for scrap.
