GYM, FRYAR | "Downtown" | Named for Pvt Elmer Fryar. Gym no longer exists. This entire area, which was "Downtown" in the 40's and 50's is now the Isezaki Shopping Plaza, and just WEST of the Minato Mirai 21 ("Port Future") on which the tallest building in Japan (Landmark Tower) stands. This building now stands on the former "Fryar" site. |
HQTRS, 8TH ARMY | "Downtown" | Yes, used as Yokohama Customs Building. |
HOSPITAL, 155TH | "Downtown" | No, this building now occupies that site. |
HOTEL, BUND | At Motomachi St near the Canal Bridge, Jetty and French Embassy - just below the international cemetery | Yes, but modified. Above the Canal and parallel to the bluff is a super highway and large bridge that now goes from that point across Tokyo Bay to the other side. |
