HOW TO APPLY

During the 'open' period, each person who has interest in applying for consideration in becoming the 'owner' or 'manager' must submit a request for such in a form convenient to the requestor -- to Jim Hyatt.   Even though you have indicated to me previously [prior to this announcement] that you have interest in being a part of the RT, you must reapply.

The request may be:   1] individually [one alumni]-- specifying which job of the RT you have interest in; or 2] by a pair of alumni who have coordinated among themselves already and want to be the complete RT; or, 3] by an individual representing an 'association' or other organized element who want the project on that basis, explaining who would be involved as owner and manager and ........., or.....

If there are other options available for the establishment of an RT I am unaware of them and would appreciate guidance.

Without getting into a lot of detail about what the application should consist of, the basic requirement is for you to convince us that you have the dedication and qualifications to do the job.   You have seen the site, and some the CD, and you know what we have said herein about the risks and responsibilities and the skills and equipment needs, and commitment, and ........; so take it from there and make your effort worthwhile  -- just as if you were applying for a mid level management position at Boeing.

Please also include in the application:

-- Any objections with respect to making public your application on the 'The Future Forum' [TFF] which will be created here on the web site -- yes or no!    Remember, if you are selected, you are going to have to make your qualifications public anyhow; and we are going to have to explain why you were selected.

-- The year you graduated from high school (our records contain errors).

The actual selection process to determine who will be the RT has not been worked out yet.  As we work our way through this process [a new experience] we may discover that we need to make changes or additions and reserve our right to do so, and to reject any or all applications [with or without explanation] and destroy the site.

We may constitute a 'panel', or involve others individually in the selection process.

We have had a great deal of talent working on the site already and there are others we know of who might be interested.   We are just not far enough along to make those decisions at this time and have a few years to work out the details.

Certainly we would welcome suggestions as this process continues -- about the selection process or any other matter.

We suspect that the selection process will include some 'priorities' and that they may look like this:

First -- To an 'association'.

Second -- To a 2 person RT.

Third -- To individuals who would have to be paired together ...................

What will NOT be given priority is the submission date of the application.

At the risk of being accused of 'discrimination' again the following may be given some special consideration for reasons so obvious they need not be explained.

Older 'more experienced' alumni vs NEW alumni just beginning the life process.
